The RESTENA - Tlinformatique de l'Education national ones et de la search is a high-speed data network work for education and research institutions in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It was taken 1989 in enterprise and attached 1992 to Internet. Since 2001 it is part of the network
Since the year 2000 of the "Fondation RESTENA", of Luxembourg the Ministry of Research and education attached donation is operated. To the initial members also the Centre de population, de et de Politiques Socio Economiques, the Centre de Recherche Public Gabriel Lippmann, the Centre de Recherche Public Henri Tudor, the Centre de Recherche Public the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg and Institut de Technologie (Luxembourg) belong to the donation.
The board of directors of the donation is with directors/conductors of the institutions for member, as well as with Ministerialdirektoren from the Ministries for education, research and finances occupies.
The RESTENA donation is also (Domain Registry) for Domains below the Top the level Domain LU. In addition it operates the "Luxembourg Internet Exchange" (LIX) since 1998, an exchange platform for IP-Traffic between of Luxembourg Internet service tenderers.
